destructive language

That moves me
Each culture all around the world has built impressive signs of its unquestioned powers. Powers that abused its people, power based on uncountable deaths as well as physical and mental sufferings. the power of a few as much as it is impressive is always played out at the expense of the majority. History shows that those abusing their power again and again had been overthrown of those you could no longer endure its injustices. However, that created only new systems of power very liable to be abused again, sooner or later.
What do these systems of power have in common? It is always power OVER someone. Power OVER a person, power OVER a people or even power OVER entire nations.
How come this kind of power has never changed and is as lively today as it was 5000 years ago? The reason why is that we never pay attention to things that we consider as normal such as breathing or our language. My intention is to make you think about the influence of language on our minds and behaviour. Our everyday language is filled up with words and pictures (metaphores) of aggression. ((book title - link)). I wonder, if we were to become attentive of the use of our language whether this would not render our daily life more harmonious in every way?
Don't believe everything
